Intel launches USB stick which is capable of running Windows 8.1
Over the past few months we have seen several new USB dongles offering different features, including the ability to run Android apps, beam video content from your phone and other mobile devices to a big screen and more. Intel has something cooler up its sleeves. The company has launched a Bay Trail Atom powered dongle that is a full-blown x86 PC.
Priced at $125 (shipping expenditure included), the device comes with a quad-core Bay Trail processor (a 64-bit Z3735F) paired with 1GB of RAM, 16 gigs of storage, a microSD card slot, and support for 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The configuration, in theory should be able to run 32-bit version of Windows 8.1, as well as several Linux distros, Android and other Atom-friendly operating systems.
If you like the idea, but crave for a better configuration, Intel has you covered. The company also has a 64-bit Atom Z3735G-powered dongle coupled with 2GB of RAM. Its internal storage can be expanded up to 32GB, however, no information about its pricing is available yet.
Conclusion: Both products Z3735F and Z3735G are similar to each other in the most of the configurations, for example the speed of both processors is 1.33 GHz, and L2 Cache 2MB, with power 2.2 Watt.
The Graphic Specification are identical as for Model: Intel HD Graphics, with min and Max Capability between 311MHz, to 646MHz. The same can be said about WiFi abd Bluetooth as we mentioned before, beside their size are identical which is 17mm x 17mm. The differences is about the PRocessoris is that the first product the allocated RAM is maximum 1G and Data Bandwidth speed 5.3 GB/second, but the second the Maximum alocated RAM is 2G and Data Bandwidth speed 10.6 GB/second (that makes the second product be able to run Windows 8.1 64-bit).
Also the Storage built-in space in Z3735F is 16Gb, but in Z3735G it's 32Gb.
As a review to the customer and users who bought this product and used it, The most of them agreed that the products are a good step into smalling the size of PC, and simplifying it, besides that they see the products are good in the office simple works only, with the ability to run some simple and traditional Games (because of the speed of the Processors that's only 1.33 GHz as we mentioned before), besides that the majority of those users agreed that the VGA is not so effecient.
